Trade Area and Subscription Limits

Availability - At Safe and Trusted Canada, we believe in fairness, clarity, and credibility.  To maintain the quality and balance of our platform, we limit the number of businesses that can appear in each primary trade area and business category —the central city, town, or community where they operate.  This primary area determines visibility priority and is subject to population-based limits.  Most paid subscription levels also include additional trade areas, sometimes allowing a business to appear in up to 20 other nearby locations.  These additional trade areas are not limited by category caps, ensuring that companies with wider service areas can still reach consumers in multiple regions.

Subscription Limits by Category and Primary Trade Area - To maintain fair and credible visibility within each community, Safe and Trusted Canada applies population-based limits to the primary trade area only.  There are no caps to Information Only and Basic Listings, ensuring that consumers always see a wide range of credible local options.

The following caps apply to all paid listings.

Large Centres ( over 1,000,000) Up to 20
Medium Centres ( over 200,000) Up to 10
Small Centres ( over 10o,000) Up to 5
Large Towns (over  10,000) Up to 2
Small Towns ( over 5,000?  Up to 1

These caps include the Plus, Standard, Advanced and Professional Subscription.  If a business wanted a Professional Subscription and no openings existed because of capping, the company could purchase an Advanced Subscription, becoming next in line if a Professional Subscriber cancelled, downgraded, or failed to renew.  We give priority to the business with the earliest activation date in the same category and trade area.  The same procedure is followed for other subscription types.
