Business and Consumer Clarity
Safe and Trusted Canada provides a neutral system for businesses and consumers.
This neutral system clearly indicates that Safe and Trusted Canada does not accredit, endorse, suggest, or validate any business. Every listing clearly states that Safe and Trusted Canada does not accredit, endorse, validate, or recommend any business. Some companies may already be subject to external oversight, regulation, accreditation or long-term public accountability through organizations. Other companies may be accredited with the BBB or other industry-specific organizations.
When that information is readily available, Safe and Trusted Canada may display links to that organization. In some cases, those organizations provide additional information, including categories, reviews, licensing details, and ratings. Safe and Trusted Canada automatically offers links to the BBB and other review sites, where consumers can find more information about the business. This improves transparency for consumers and reduces confusion. Account holders can control links to review sites and deselect them.
The BBB still provides consumer rating information, complaint history, and other relevant details. Safe and Trusted Canada currently holds BBB accreditation. See our report. The report indicates that we have been in business for 23 years. It shows all our business categories, payment methods, and additional information. BBB accredited businesses can link to their profiles at any time. We make it very clear that we do not endorse any organization, including BBB.
Regulated health professionals operate under strict provincial or national licensing requirements and public oversight. These professionals are subject to strict oversight and are already publicly accountable. Health Professionals can link to their organizations at any time.

Businesses with 10+ Years in Operation Longevity matters.
Businesses that have operated for 10 years or more may have demonstrated consistency, reputation, and the ability to serve consumers over time. Our credentials system clearly references how long the business has been in operation.
Safe and Trusted Canada is not allowed to favour one business over another based on affiliations or time in business. Doing so would not make our system neutral and would suggest that one type of organization or credential matters.
What this means:
This means that our application is the same for everyone. There are no discounts for any business, regardless of association. To do so would mean that Safe and Trusted Canada endorses an association or an affiliation.

All subscriptions follow the rule that a subscription adds all subcategories for that subscription, plus those already assigned to the business as an Information Only Profile. Discounts apply to subscriptions when the company is advertising in an area with fewer than 1.5 million people.
All Information Only profiles will see possible subcategories related to their business. They will also see possible regions related to their business. This gives the business owner more information on the subscription type they may want, without activating additional subcategories or trade areas, as an Information Only profile.
We suggest that a business apply for the Free Basic Subscription to learn if this is the right venue for your business advertising.
However, the Professional Subscription offers the best solution to a business owner with credentials, reviews and history.
